What Commodity Inspection Entails
Commodity inspection is the systematic verification of cargo quality, quantity, and condition at critical points in the supply chain. Our surveyors attend at loading ports, transhipment facilities, and discharge terminals to ensure your goods correspond to contractual specifications and international standards.
Pre-shipment verification includes visual assessment of cargo condition, quantity tallying, weight verification through draft survey or weighbridge, and documentation review. We confirm that the goods are as described in the sales contract, letter of credit, and shipping instructions before loading commences.
Sampling and analysis follows recognised international standards such as ISO, GAFTA, FOSFA, and ASTM. Representative samples are drawn during loading or discharge and submitted to accredited laboratories for moisture, foreign matter, protein content, calorific value, and other contract-critical parameters.
Quality assessment covers physical characteristics, contamination screening, and compliance with buyer specifications. Our reports provide the clear, factual evidence you need to protect your commercial position — whether you are the buyer, seller, trader, or financier.
