Marine Surveys and Cargo Inspections in Italy
Italy is one of i4Survey's hub countries. Our own surveyors attend at Adriatic ports from Ravenna and Venice down to Bari, and at Augusta and Milazzo in Sicily.
Charterers and shipowners call us for on-hire and off-hire bunker and condition surveys. Traders, buyers and producers use us for draft surveys, loading supervision and scrap grading, and cargo owners and carriers call us when cargo arrives damaged.

Common Questions
- Which ports in Italy do you cover?
- Ravenna, Marghera (Venice), Chioggia, Manfredonia and Bari on the Adriatic, and Augusta and Milazzo in Sicily. Tell us the port and the vessel and we will arrange the surveyor.
- Do you do on-hire and off-hire surveys in Italy?
- Yes. When a vessel goes on or comes off hire, we measure the bunkers remaining on board and record the condition of the holds, so owners and charterers settle on the same figures.
- Who do you work for?
- Traders, shipowners, charterers, producers and buyers of the cargo, freight forwarders, and P&I insurers.
- Are you independent?
- Yes. We have no ties to shipowners, traders or insurers. Our reports reflect what we find, not what any party wants to hear.
- How do I request a survey?
- Email e.sirtas@i4survey.com with the vessel, the port, the dates and what you need, or use the contact form.
